POLARIS Terms and Conditions

These Terms and Conditions ("Terms") govern your use of Polaris, a geopolitics news and intelligence platform provided by Sirius Geopolitics ("we", "us", "our"). By creating an account or using Polaris, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the service.

These Terms should be read together with the Polaris Privacy Policy.

1. Eligibility

You must be at least 16 years old to create a Polaris account. By registering, you confirm that the information you provide is accurate and that you are able to enter into a binding agreement.

 

2. Your account

You are responsible for keeping your login details secure and for all activity under your account. Please enable multi-factor authentication and notify us promptly at hello@siriusgeopolitics.au if you believe your account has been compromised.

3. Subscription, free trial and billing

  • Free trial: New accounts may receive a 7-day free trial. You will not be charged during the trial, and you can cancel any time before it ends to avoid being charged.

  • Subscription: After the trial, Polaris costs AUD $9 per month unless stated otherwise at sign-up.

  • Auto-renewal: Your subscription renews automatically each month and your payment method is charged until you cancel. By subscribing, you authorise these recurring charges.

  • Cancellation: You can cancel at any time. Cancellation takes effect at the end of your current billing period, and you keep access until then.

  • Payments: Payments are processed securely by Stripe. We do not store your full card details.

  • Refunds: Fees already paid are generally non-refundable, except where a refund is required by law, including under the Australian Consumer Law (see clause 9).

  • Price changes: We may change the subscription price. We will give you reasonable notice before any change affects you, and you may cancel if you do not accept it.

  • Discount and promotional codes: Promotional access, including any free or discounted arrangement, may be varied or withdrawn on reasonable notice.


4. The content, and how to rely on it

Polaris provides curated news, summaries, explainers and analysis on geopolitical topics for general information only. In particular:

  • Not advice: Polaris content does not constitute financial, investment, legal, security, or other professional advice, and must not be relied on as such. You should seek your own professional advice before making decisions.

  • Curation and AI: Content is selected and summarised using automated tools, including artificial intelligence, and is reviewed editorially before publication. Despite this, summaries may contain errors, omissions or misinterpretations.

  • No warranty of accuracy: We do not warrant that the content is complete, accurate, current or fit for any particular purpose. Underlying facts come from third-party sources we do not control.

  • Your risk: Any reliance you place on Polaris content is at your own risk.


5. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • share your account or access with others, or resell or redistribute Polaris content;

  • copy, scrape, republish or commercially exploit the content beyond your own personal use;

  • attempt to disrupt, reverse engineer, or gain unauthorised access to the service; or

  • use Polaris for any unlawful purpose.


6. Intellectual property

Polaris, its design, and any original content is owned by Sirius Geopolitics. We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to access and use the content for your own information while your subscription is active. Third-party content including articles linked from Polaris remain the property of their publishers.

7. Third-party sources and links

Polaris links to and summarises content from third-party publishers. We are not responsible for the content, accuracy or availability of third-party sites, and some linked sources may require their own subscription or be behind a paywall.

8. Complaints and corrections

We aim for accuracy and fairness. If you believe Polaris content is inaccurate, misleading, or unfairly affects a person or organisation, you can report it through the in-app "Report" function or by emailing hello@siriusgeopolitics.au. We review valid complaints promptly and will correct, update or remove content where appropriate. This reflects our commitment to responsible publishing.

9. Availability, changes and termination

We aim to keep Polaris available and reliable, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted access, and we may change, suspend or discontinue features. We may suspend or terminate your account if you breach these Terms. You may stop using Polaris and delete your account at any time.

10. Disclaimers and limitation of liability

Nothing in these Terms excludes, restricts or modifies any consumer guarantee, right or remedy you have under the Australian Consumer Law that cannot lawfully be excluded.

Subject to that, and to the maximum extent permitted by law: Polaris is provided "as is"; we exclude all warranties not expressly stated; and our liability to you for any loss connected with the service is limited, at our option, to resupplying the service or paying the cost of resupply. We are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, or for decisions you make based on Polaris content.

11. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will post the updated version and change the "last updated" date. Significant changes will be notified to you where appropriate. Continuing to use Polaris after a change means you accept the updated Terms.

12. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Western Australia, and you submit to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of its courts.
