Founded by national security and diplomacy expert Alana Ford, Sirius brings clarity to complexity, and delivers sharp analysis, strategic foresight, and informed engagement on the issues shaping our competitive world.

Meet our Founder and Executive Director
Alana Ford
Alana has extensive experience across diplomacy, national security, and technology policy, having served as an Australian diplomat, in senior roles within the Australian Government's national security architecture, and in the international think-tank and technology sectors.

In addition to founding and leading Sirius Geopolitics, Alana is the non-resident Senior Research Adviser for Defence, Security & Technology at the Perth USAsia Centre, is a Director at Belair Group, and on the Board of Directors at the Data Federation Lab. She has been recognised as a Young Woman to Watch in International Affairs (2025) and was a member of the Women in the Alliance Network (2024–25) for the University of Sydney's United States Studies Centre.
Alana has published research and commentary on democratic resilience and the intersection of security, technology and defence. She has led extensive public policy efforts on cyber and digital technology policy, law enforcement policy, countering online terrorism, child exploitation, and international intelligence cooperation.
